The stress response is a natural part of being human and it definitely has its advantages when acknowledged and managed.
Short term stress allows us to reap benefits. From maintaining a healthy immune system, getting things done and staying safe, to improving cognitive function and increasing levels of confidence. Hormones are released when responding to stress; heart and breath rate increases, readying your muscles to respond, therefore eliminating stress isn’t the answer. It is the long term (chronic) unrecognised stress response where problems can occur. If your stress response dosn’t stop firing and stress hormones remain elevated longer than necessary, a toll on your health can occur.

When we experience an emotional response to events in life which are stressful, the energy of the response is 'trapped' within the body. Over 2 days at the Beautiful facility 'Quest for life' at Bundanoon, Jo Callender will be your teacher and Facilitator.
You will have the opportunity to let go and switch off with functional stretching, with a focus on stretching the fascial lines associated with meridians, softening and lengthening the tissue and releasing stored or stuck (emotional) energy. You will learn specific techniques which will help manage stress and which you will be able to incorporate into your daily life, meditation and delicious organic food and possibly the deepest sleep you may have had in a while!
For those who have never experienced the stretch therapy system, this 'deeper into the stretch retreat' is a fantastic opportunity to connect with and implement change to your body, opening your awareness to how much potential for movement and freedom you have available to you.
For those who have been practising stretch therapy, delving deeper, moving even slower, fine tuning your practice and hanging out with your stretch buddies, will be your reward!
A two hour workshop where you will learn the techniques which make stretch therapy unique. Explore your current range of motion, whilst experiencing a gentle lengthening of the connective tissues of the body. ( Fascia). We will cover all major muscle groups & begin the journey of improving the overall bio mechanical function of your body.

This workshop is suitable for those who have either attended the Into the stretch workshop or have been participating in regular 10 week term classes. A Successful stretch program will deliver repetition and increasing intensity, and this is what Deeper into the stretch will deliver.
During your journey within the stretch therapy program you will have identified your unique postural patterns developed overtime due to lifestyle. This knowledge coupled with our progressive system will support deeper work leading to more balanced and sustained freedom of movement.
